The hardest part of poverty is meeting basic needs. Every day, a poor man faces the stress of putting food on the table for his family, often with little or nothing to spare. Unlike those who can plan meals or have extra savings, he lives day-to-day, sometimes not knowing where tomorrow’s meal will come from. Shelter, too, is a constant concern. Many poor families live in crowded, often run-down spaces that offer little comfort or security. For them, the dream of owning a simple, stable home feels out of reach.
Work is both a lifeline and a challenge. Many poor men labor in exhausting jobs — often in construction, cleaning, or other physically demanding fields — where long hours and back-breaking work yield only meager wages. These jobs offer no security or benefits, and no matter how hard they work, it’s often not enough to cover even the most basic expenses.
